UP man gets 20 years of RI for raping minor stepdaughter

by News Desk · The Siasat DailyMeerut: A court here has sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping his minor stepdaughter in 2021, the prosecution said on Saturday, May 23.
In the order pronounced on Friday, May 22, the court of Additional District Judge (POCSO Act) Mohammad Babar Khan found Vinod, a resident of Beta village in the Incholi police station area, guilty of raping the girl, who was 10 years old at the time of the incident, the prosecution said.
The court sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 7,000 on him.
According to the prosecution, the case was registered based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s mother at the Nauchandi police station on September 29, 2021. The complainant had alleged that Vinod raped his stepdaughter after finding her alone at home and the girl later informed her mother.
Police completed the investigation and filed a chargesheet in the court.
