Celebrate 30 years of art at the Summerlin Festival of Arts, Oct. 9-11

by · Las Vegas Review-Journal

Mark your calendar for one of Southern Nevada’s favorite fall traditions. The 30th annual Summerlin Festival of Arts returns to Downtown Summerlin Oct. 9-11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, bringing together more than 100 acclaimed artists from across the U.S. for a weekend filled with creativity, inspiration and one-of-a-kind discoveries.

“For 30 years, the Summerlin Festival of Arts has brought artists and art lovers together for a weekend of inspiration, discovery and connection,” said Danielle Bisterfeldt, senior vice president, marketing and consumer experience for Summerlin and Downtown Summerlin.

“What began at Summerlin Centre Community Park decades ago has grown into a premier showcase of fine art, now held at The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin since 2015. The Festival features paintings, sculpture, photography and mixed media, reflecting the very best in contemporary creativity. While many artists have returned year after year, each season also introduces fresh talent and bold new visions, ensuring the festival remains a destination for serious collectors and curious art lovers alike.”

As a longtime sponsor of the Summerlin Festival of Arts and a longtime proponent of the arts in Southern Nevada through its special Neon section, the Las Vegas Review-Journal has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the festival and the arts community. As the event celebrates its 30th anniversary, the newspaper joins in celebrating three decades of bringing artists and art lovers together.

Among this year’s featured artists is Michael Panetta, whose glass wall sculptures are inspired by the beauty and movement of the ocean. A Southern California native with more than two decades of experience, Panetta transforms glass into mesmerizing works that evoke the serenity and energy of the sea.

Visitors also will discover the imaginative creations of Arunas Oslapas, a retired industrial design professor who turns reclaimed materials into extraordinary woven metal baskets and sculptural “metal quilts.” His inventive use of rusted steel, vintage street signs and found objects gives new life to everyday materials.

For lovers of bold color and dramatic realism, Christopher Roche presents striking acrylic paintings that blend technical precision with contemporary style. His large-scale works transform familiar subjects into vibrant, emotionally engaging pieces that command attention.

Representing Las Vegas, Nataniel Stepniewski showcases breathtaking astrophotography of the Southwest. Using advanced light-sensitive equipment, he captures landscapes and star-filled skies in a single exposure, revealing the region’s natural beauty exactly as it appears under pristine night skies.

Whether you’re searching for the perfect piece for your home, looking to meet talented artists, or simply enjoying a beautiful autumn weekend, the Summerlin Festival of Arts offers an unforgettable celebration of creativity in the heart of Downtown Summerlin.

Admission is free, making it the perfect outing for art lovers of all ages. Visitors are invited to explore Summerlin.com for a complete list of participating artists and full festival details — and to see how art isn’t just celebrated for a weekend, but woven into everyday life across Summerlin.
