Instagram is bringing back Rings, the award for 25 creative risk-takers who use the platform. The honor celebrates individuals creating their own niche in fashion, music, and more.  How does one qualify? “Rings isn’t about honoring a specific type of content, it honors a spirit,” the team at Instagram explains in a statement. “One theme we hear from creators all over the world is the excitement and nervousness that come with making something and putting it out into the world. It takes courage to chase an idea, quiet that inner critic, and create anyway. This award is for the creators who don’t just participate in culture, but shift it, break through whatever barrier holds them back to realize their ambitions. Because every act of creativity, big or small, can lead to something great.”

How are they assessing their most creative users? An impressive list of judges! Among the judges this year are Donatella Versace, A$AP Rocky, BODE’s Emily Adams Bode Aujla, Will Welch, Isamaya Ffrench, Instagram’s Adam Mosseri and Eva Chen, and more.

Winners will be revealed on October 29th and receive a gold ring designed by BODE and Easter eggs on their IG profiles. Last year’s winners received a custom ring from Grace Wales Bonner and an exclusive gold ring that displays around their Instagram profile picture whenever they post an active story.

Creators can’t apply or pitch themselves for the Instagram Rings award. Instagram’s internal creator teams start by reviewing the platform’s global user base of over three billion monthly active users and whittle down to the top 25. Bonne chance!
