There’s no more dynamic duo than a pair of siblings. John Hardy recognizes this with the introduction of a new collection in collaboration with Billie Eilish and her brother, Finneas O’Connell. The collection, the Billie Eilish & FINNEAS Collection, is the first designed by the famous pair with the jewelry brand. The two have been ambassadors for the house over the past year but stepped into a hands-on role by co-designing this new collection. The result is a collection deeply tied to the personal aesthetics of both individuals.
“Jewelry has always been an enormous part of how I express myself. It’s such an important reflection of a certain time in your life,” said Eilish. “In my current day-to-day, I wear daintier jewelry. On tour, I love a chunkier, thicker piece. I love that we were able to work with both styles.”
“As we’ve grown and evolved, Billie and I have become more minimalistic in our taste,” said O’Connell. “Sometimes the simplest silhouette is the thing I appreciate the most.”
The two artists have various, sometimes contrasting personal styles. Eilish brought inspiration to the collection from her Grammy Award-winning song Wildflower, making flowers out of sterling silver and set with diamonds. The Screwball style is opposite to this, with minimalist elements and a sculptural quality. It has an industrial look and is vastly different from the soft femininity of Wildflower. But when paired together, there is an unexpected harmony between the two.
“Billie and FINNEAS brought their very distinct point of view to the design process,” said Reed Krakoff, Creative Chairman of John Hardy. “From the beginning, they challenged us to think differently about the tension between softness and strength, symmetry and balance. The result feels personal to Billie and FINNEAS and unmistakably John Hardy.”
