Girl, Put Your Record On! Mother and Amoeba Music Collab

MOTHER launched a collaboration with famous Los Angeles record store Amoeba Music, expanding their Holiday 26 collection. The designs take inspiration from vintage styles and are a celebration of music, nodding to the culture of record stores. While the digital age has grown, landmarks like Amoeba Music stand as a symbol of individuality and nostalgia.
MOTHER is a brand that found its roots in the vintage California style, made famous for embracing this aesthetic. Similarly, Amoeba leans heavily on nostalgia to bring in customers to browse their collection of new and used vinyls, CDs, and DVDs. It’s a place for the community to gather and connect over a shared love of music. The two brands align on personal values, making the collaboration feel authentic rather than strictly commercial.
“Growing up near San Francisco, Amoeba has always represented more than music to me,” said Lela Becker, president and co-founder of MOTHER. “There’s a kind of magic in losing hours inside a record store, stumbling across something unexpected and making it part of your world. That feeling of discovery and slower living is at the heart of our storytelling.”
“We wanted the collection to feel like the kind of pieces you’d find while digging through vintage bins,” said Tim Kaeding, co-founder and creative director of MOTHER.
While experiences at the bins are typically grungier than this, the collection feels outside of MOTHER’s normal style. It’s a recognition of wider audiences and the want to connect further with customers. The styles are unisex and include a jacket with assorted pins, carpenter pants, and record totes. The collection is available online now, with prices ranging from $125 to $385.
