A late-night fight outside a popular Arlington restaurant escalated into a shooting that left one person injured, police said.

Officers were called just after 10 p.m. Thursday to the parking lot of Pluckers Wing Bar in the 4000 block of Bagpiper Way, where two groups had begun fighting, according to an Arlington police sergeant at the scene.

Authorities said the altercation took place outside the restaurant and did not involve the business itself.

During the fight, gunfire erupted, and one person was shot. Police said the victim was taken inside the restaurant by others seeking help, but emphasized the shooting did not occur inside the establishment.

The injured person was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries. Their current condition was not immediately known.

Police said a suspect was taken into custody at the scene. Authorities have not yet announced what charges the individual may face.

The investigation remained active for several hours, with officers working at the scene until about 3 a.m.

No additional details about what led to the confrontation have been released.
