Closure Trailer: Michal Marczak’s Sundance and Thessaloniki Winner Arrives In October

After first landing on my radar with the wondrous All These Sleepless Nights, Michal Marczak returned this year with another film blending the realms of fact and fiction. Closure, a documentary that is better shot than most narrative films this year, follows a father trying to track down his missing son. A Grand Jury Prize winner at Sundance and top winner at Thessaloniki Documentary Festival 2026, 1-2 Special will release the film beginning October 28, and now the first trailer has arrived.

Here’s the synopsis: “CLOSURE follows Daniel Dymiński, an obsessed father on a mission to locate his son, Chris, who was last seen by surveillance cameras walking on Warsaw’s Gdańsk Bridge. Armed with an arsenal of tools — from DIY inventions to GPS trackers to drones — Daniel scours the turbulent Vistula River on an all-consuming search, desperate for answers. As time passes, the Dymiński family must reckon with their loss and the possibility that they may never understand what really happened, yet Daniel refuses to quit trying, clinging to the hope that his son might still be alive.”
