Anna Wintour and Meryl Streep share cover of Vogue in May issue
by Juliet La Sala · The Washington TimesFormer Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Meryl Streep share the cover of the fashion magazine’s May issue in honor of the upcoming film sequel “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” multiple news outlets report.
The Oscar-winning actress reprises her role as Runway magazine editor Miranda Priestly, widely believed to be based on Ms. Wintour, who stepped down as editor-in-chief of Vogue last year.
The May issue marks the first time in her more than 30-year career that Ms. Wintour has graced Vogue’s cover.
The May issue features a cover and photos of Ms. Streep and Ms. Wintour posing in a car and a corporate elevator, taken by photographer Annie Leibovitz. It includes an interview of Ms. Streep and Ms. Wintour moderated by filmmaker Greta Gerwig.
Ms. Wintour, Ms. Streep and Ms. Leibovitz note in the interview that they are the same age — 76.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2,” the sequel to the 2006 comedy-drama, also stars Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. It is set to be released May 1.
