New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, emboldening terrorists, one olive branch at a time

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani put out a video of himself planting an olive tree at Gracie Mansion alongside Palestinian people from Gaza, and then he posted it on social media with these words: “May peace be our future.”
As propaganda goes, this is Joseph Goebbels-worthy. And it’s propaganda that fuels antisemitic narratives and emboldens the Islamic terrorists who would love nothing more than to see Israel and its people eradicated.
The Jewish people, in the lead-up to the savage Hamas terror attacks on their nation on Oct. 7, 2023, had welcomed the Palestinian people into their homes, into their communities, into their places of business. They had reached out to the Gazans and provided them economic opportunities and friendship. They had reached across the border and given aid and comfort to their enemies, trying in the process to turn them into friends. And how did the Palestinian people respond?

With Oct. 7.
With the savage, brutal terrorist attack on the Nova Festival field and on the communities near the border with Gaza.
Hamas scooped up men, women, children and babies and viciously murdered them, tortured them, cut into their bodies and used the discarded parts as makeshift soccer balls, raped them, kidnapped them and, on that last, subsequently tortured them more and starved them. Why? Because they hate Jews, and their mission in life is to rid the world of the Jewish people and eradicate Israel from the face of the earth.
But it wasn’t just Hamas.
The so-called innocent Palestinian people — the families who didn’t cross the border with the terrorists to kill and injure and torture and rape —nonetheless cheered the savagery. They applauded the terrorism.

But this was not surprising.
These same Palestinian families — the so-called civilians and innocents in Gaza — had elected Hamas, knowing full well that Hamas stood for eradicating the Jewish people. And those who hadn’t voted for Hamas nonetheless still voted for another body of government with a similarly stated mission of eradicating the Jewish people.
To say Hamas is only a small radicalized segment of Gaza’s population is to dismiss reality, deny truth and whitewash history.
Hamas may have been the terror organization that took to trucks and motorbikes to cross into Israel and commit monstrous acts of inhumanity in 2023. But those staying behind in Gaza were not innocent.
They knew of the tunnels bored beneath their homes — tunnels that were used by terrorists to store weapons and hide abducted Israelis.

They knew of the weapons that Hamas had stored within their homes, beneath the beds of their children.
Remember: In Israel, there is signage dotting the landscape that prohibits entry to Jews — that warns of potential death to Jews who enter the particular areas. There is no similar signage for Palestinians — there are no signs barring entry to Muslims. As a matter of fact, Muslims — Palestinians — Gaza’s — they’re all welcomed.
As a matter of fact, there’s an entire Muslim Quarter in the old city of Jerusalem. It’s next to the Jewish Quarter, next to the Christian Quarter, next to the Armenian Quarter.
Neither Gaza nor the Palestinian people are equally accommodating to those of Jewish faith and ancestry; to those of any other faith outside of Islam at all, as a matter of fact.

“Last night I planted an olive tree at Gracie Mansion with Palestinian families from Gaza,” Mamdani boasted. “May peace be our future.”
Well, peace entirely depends upon the Palestinian people — upon those of Islamic faith. The Israelis have already shown themselves to be lovers of peace, and for more times, over more years, than may be easily counted.
