Rapper Offset faces lawsuit from a Detroit casino days after being shot at Florida casino

by · The Washington Times

Rapper Offset, who is recovering from being shot at a Florida casino, now is being sued by a Detroit casino for unpaid debts, multiple news outlets report.

The MotorCity Casino Hotel filed a lawsuit against the rapper, claiming breach of contract and fraud, stating Offset opened a $100,000 credit line in 2024 and never repaid it.

The casino tried to collect the debt directly from his bank but found insufficient funds in his account.

On Monday, the 34-year-old rapper, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. He was in stable condition at Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the Seminole Police Department said.

Police said rapper Lil Tjay, whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested and charged in the shooting, NBC News reported.

Offset, a former member of the defunct Atlanta-based rap trio Migos, shares three children with superstar Cardi B.
