Princess Alexandra of Hanover announces engagement and raises possibility of a royal wedding in Monaco

Princess Alexandra of Hanover, youngest child of Princess Caroline, has announced she’s getting married.

Alexandra, niece of Prince Albert II of Monaco, took to Instagram to reveal she is now engaged to Ben-Sylvester Strautmann.

She posted a photo of her and her fiance with the message ”The marriage plot”.

Her husband to be proposed with a giant yellow diamond engagement ring.

And the bride to be showcased it in a series of images on her Instagram showing her wearing the ring, including while tucking into a plate of avocado.

Congratulations came from several other royals as soon as the news was posted.

The eldest daughter of Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, Princess Maria Olympia said ”Omgggg conrgatulations!” while her aunt, Nina Flohr, said ”Congratulations, how wonderful”.

Italian designer, Gianbattista Valli, also joined the celebrations, writing ”love the ”Bling”.

Alexandra, the daughter of Princess Caroline with her third husband, Prince Ernst August of Hanover, has been dating Ben-Sylvester Strautmann for several years. The 27 year old is a regular fixture at big events in Monaco.

She is the youngest of the four children of Princess Caroline and grew up alongside half brothers, Andrea and Pierre Casiraghi and half sister, Charlotte Casiraghi. Alexandra is also a granddaughter of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III.

There’s no news yet of when the wedding will take place and no official congratulations yet from her uncle, Albert II, who has reigned in Monaco since 2005.
