Crown Prince Christian is reflecting on his time in East Africa in a personal Instagram post, calling it “an experience I will never forget.”

Accompanied by a series of photos showcasing his time in the undisclosed country, the future king writes that “everyday life down here is something completely different than at home” and gives special mention to “the food, the culture, the climate, the wildlife, the tasks and the people” who have made it a unique experience.

Over the past few weeks, Crown Prince Christian says he’s been working in nature preservation, with tasks including registering and supervising animals in the bush—and getting up close when their GPS collars are replaced—while also watching the office at the farm he’s staying in.

And, of course, there’s time for sports: “I played some good football matches with the locals,” the future king reveals.

As his time in East Africa comes to an end, Crown Prince Christian reveals that he’s looking forward to spending Christmas in Denmark with his family and his plans for 2025.

“Now I’m looking forward to new challenges!” he writes. “In February, I’ll start working as a military officer at the Guardhouse Regiment in Slagelse.”

The Guardhouse Regiment is a calvary regiment and combat troop that makes up one half of the royal regiments (the other being the Royal Life Guards).
