I signed the deal out of hunger- Kwesi Arthur
by Mzta Churchill · GHANA PAGEGhanaian musician, Kwesi Arthur has revisited the period where he signed a deal with record label, “Ground Uo Chale” headed by Glen Boateng.
Speaking in an interview with Wonderland Magazine sighted by GH Page, the renowned musician disclosed why he has consistently stated that he regrets joining the aforementioned record label.
The rapper has shared that during the period he signed the deal, he was not only young, but hungry and didn’t have any lawyer who could explain things better for him, and stand in as his official lawyer.
“Unfortunately, I signed a deal when I was young and hungry and had no knowledge about the terms and conditions. I didn’t get the right legal advice, he said”.
However, the rapper noted that even though his incident is an unfortunate one, what makes him happy is that despite that, it can still be a lesson to not only upcoming musicians but those who have made names for themselves already.
“I want to use my experience as a lesson to other artistes who are younger than me and even older too to ensure they have the right guidance before they get into any contract. I want to advocate for fairness for artistes in every creative industry”, he said.
Meanwhile, the rapper claims despite the challenges among others, he feels okay, stating that “I can really do what I want. And I love the freedom in that”
