Popular New Orleans Coffee Chain Shuts Down Amarillo Store

· NewsTalk 1290

As Amarillo grows and new businesses open, others aren't so fortunate and close their doors. With every business that opened in 2025, it felt as if another closed its doors.

Back in 2023, we announced that a new coffee shop was moving into Amarillo. Amarillo can always use more coffee shops. That coffee shop was PJs Coffee, a New Orleans-based coffee shop bringing some NOLA flair into Amarillo.

PJs Coffee’s Arrival in Amarillo

PJs Coffee opened in Amarillo in September 2024, bringing New Orleans flavors to Town Square Village. Just a hop, skip, and a jump for those living in the apartments above. They could just order on the app and then walk downstairs to pick up their coffee. Talk about convenient.

Social Media Buzz Around the Closure

A little over a year later, messages began to spread across social media in Amarillo, a week before Christmas. Unfortunately, it appeared PJs Coffee closed. Their local Facebook page disappeared as well. At the time of publishing, Google still showed the store as open and did not include a permanently closed tag. However, the PJs Coffee website has removed the location.

When we drove by around 8 in the morning, it was dark and quiet, with a paper sign on the door stating the store was closed.

We reached out to PJs Coffee to confirm what happened to the franchise and if the location was closed:

The decision to close this location was difficult. We are grateful to our loyal guests for their support and hope to serve the community again at another location soon.
