El Paso Heartbroken After Post Malone Cancels Tour Stop

· NewsTalk 1290

I think I am ready to talk about the tragic loss I experienced this past weekend. That loss being the chance to FINALLY see Post Malone in El Paso.

I was so ready to see Post Malone live at the Sun Bowl. For me, this wasn’t just another concert, this was a moment I literally MANIFESTED!! I’ve been saying for months that he needed to come to El Paso, and when it was finally announced I was so excited!

And now… my manifestation has turned into emotional damage.

Post Malone Broke My Heart… and El Paso’s Too

Last Friday Post Malone shared a post on his Instagram page saying that he needed to postpone his “Big Ass Stadium Tour” by 3 weeks  “to get music done”, and that several of the planned stops would be canceled.

He then published the revised concert schedule and many fans noticed that he canceled six shows entirely… including El Paso. *Cries in Spanish* The May 13 show at the Sun Bowl was no longer on his schedule meaning that my dream of seeing Posty was crushed! Just like my happiness!

El Pasoans Share The Real Reason Post Canceled his El Paso Date

According to Post himself, he needs more time to finish his upcoming album, “The Eternal Buzz,” which he had already promised fans. Because of that, the tour will now kick off on June 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina instead.

That’s the official (PR) story, but if you’ve spent even five minutes scrolling social media, you already know that fans aren’t exactly buying it.

El Pasoans, and honestly fans everywhere, had thoughts. While Post says it’s about finishing music, many fans think there’s more to the story, And I hate to say it but I agree with some of these theories.

Here are the top theories floating around:

  1. Low Ticket Sales
Fans noticed a lot of unsold seats on the Ticketmaster website, especially for bigger venues like the Sun Bowl. Some believe the turnout just wasn’t where it needed to be.
  2. The Jelly Roll Factor
While Jelly Roll has his fanbase, not everyone was thrilled about him being part of the tour. Some fans straight up said if Jelly Roll wasn’t the guest they would have gone to the show.
  3. “We Miss the Old Post”
This one came up a lot. Fans were hoping for more of the rap-heavy, early-era Post Malone energy, and weren’t exactly excited about a more country-leaning concert experience.

El Paso doesn’t get every major tour stop, so when we do, we show up. This one felt personal. And while refunds are great and all… they don’t replace the experience fans were counting down to.
