A moderate earthquake was recorded near Kalewa in Sagaing Region on the night of October 2, according to a statement issued by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH). The earthquake occurred at 11:25:32 pm. on October 2, 2026, with its epicenter located in Myanmar, about five miles southeast of Kalewa and approximately 60 miles northeast of the Hakha Seismological Station.
