Christine McCulloch purchased the book for about £10 (approximately Rs 1,070) in 1997 from a Stratford-upon-Avon bookshop as a gift for her son Adam, unaware it would become a valuable collector’s item decades later.

Nearly 30 years after being bought for just 10 pounds, a rare first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone sold for 36,000 pounds at an auction on Wednesday.
