The Netherlands recorded its highest-ever strawberry consumption in 2025, according to trade association GroentenFruit Huis. On average, Dutch residents ate 2.8 kilograms of strawberries per person, up from 2.5 kilograms five years ago. The total equaled nearly six standard punnets per person over the year.Consumption remained strongly seasonal, with the bulk of demand concentrated in late spring and early summer. May and June accounted for 40 percent of all strawberries eaten in 2025, making those months the clear peak period for consumption.
