A 54-year-old Greek woman has welcomed a baby girl using an embryo frozen for more than 22 years, months after the tragic death of her 21-year-old son.

Embryos can remain cryopreserved for extended periods when stored under appropriate conditions, although successful births from embryos frozen for such a long time remain relatively uncommon.
