Six fawns take birth in Palamu tiger reserve

Six fawns were born to the translocated spotted deer brought in Palamu tiger reserve from the Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park Ormanjhi Ranchi.

A total of 147 spotted deer have been brought into the PTR. Six female deer gave birth to one each fawn, said the deputy director south division of PTR Kumar Ashish.

The newborn fawns are fit and fine. Their mothers are extremely possessive and protective of them.

The fawns are being given bran, chaff and molasses besides they are taking mother deer's milk. 

Ashish said safety of the seer and the fawns has been stepped up. Two fawns took their birth in the Ramandaag jungle and four in the Teno grassland.
