Woman killed by falling tree during windstorm in Chilliwack

The Chilliwack RCMP says a woman died Monday after suffering injuries from a tree that fell in Island 22 Regional Park.

Mounties have not disclosed many details, but say the woman and two children were in the park around 3 p.m.

BC Emergency Health Services says paramedics were called to the scene, but no patients required transportation to hospital.

Wind gusts recorded in Chilliwack Monday reached a maximum speed of 66 kilometres per hour.
