Northbound traffic crawling south of the Fraser River

Emergency repair work on the George Massey Tunnel Tuesday morning snarled northbound traffic on Highway 99 between Delta and Richmond.

Temporary construction closed down a single lane in the northbound direction. The lane has since reopened, but not before causing major delays.

Traffic is backed up as far as Ladner Trunk Road.

Meanwhile, the Alex Fraser Bridge is hardly a better option for drivers, as multiple vehicle incidents have backed up northbound traffic on Highway 91.
