Live: Black Caps v West Indies - third test, day two

· RNZ

New Zealand have declared their first innings closed at 575/8, after underscoring their dominance of the West Indies bowling in the third test at Mt Maunganui.

The Black Caps began the second day at 334/1, after a recordbreaking opening stand of 323 runs by Tom Latham and Devon Conway.

Conway quickly brought up his second test double century, before he was eventually caught leg before wicket by Jayden Seales for 227.

His departure triggered a mini-collapse, as the home side lost three wickets for 29 runs, but a 61-run stand by Rachin Ravindra and Glenn Phillips steadied the ship.

Ravindra then combined with Ajaz Patel for a 39-run partnership, as he neared a fifth test century, but his pursuit of that milestone was prematurely terminated, when captain Latham declared, giving his bowlers 20 overs at the Windies batters, with Shai Hope unwell and Kemar Roach nursing a hamstring niggle.
