Burn-off sends smoke across city

Smoke from a controlled burn-off in Highcliff could be seen across Dunedin today. 

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman said it was aware of the fire in Hilton Rd and had received several calls about it.

The fire was safe and under control, he said.
