'Cable fault' cuts power to 700 for two hours

Power has been restored to properties in the hill suburbs bordering Otago Harbour after crews repaired a cable fault.

Around 700 homes in Andersons Bay, Highcliff, Macandrew Bay, Musselburgh, Shiel Hill, The Cove and Waverley were affected by the unplanned outage at 2.20pm.

An Aurora spokeswoman said the suspected cable fault was fixed and all poeer back on at 4.15pm.
