For the first time, Te Tipua School has set aside a week to promote reading.

Pupils of the 37-strong rural school including (from left) Lissie Lombardi, 5, Charlotte Jackson 5, Isabella Lombardi, 4, Jai Lombardi, 11, Hollie Douse, 10, Serat Sidhu, 10, Param Sidhu 5, and Gurbazz Upple, 5, dressed up as book characters and took part in reading competitions and challenges.

The community was invited to the school on Friday.
