Rīga public transport will be free at New Year

On December 31st and January 1st, all passengers will be able to use Riga's public transport for free, so you will not need to register an e-ticket or code ticket when boarding. People coming to the Latvian capital to celebrate the New Year will not need to worry about buying tickets on these days.

To make it easier for everyone to get home from holiday events, additional trips will be provided on bus, trolleybus and tram routes on New Year's Eve.

Parking lots managed by Rīgas satiksme will also be free of charge , except for the underground parking lot at K. Valdemāra Street 5A. During the holiday week, there will also be changes to the working hours of " Rīgas satiksme " customer centers. On Friday, January 2nd, public transport will run on the holiday schedule.

Before then, between during the Christmas holidays, from December 24th to 26th, public transport will operate on a holiday schedule.

On December 24th, 25th and 26th, Riga Municipality paid parking lots managed by “Rīgas satiksme” will be available for free, again except for the parking lot at K. Valdemāra Street 5a – parking there must be paid according to the current tariffs.
