Watch Adam Savage learn how to handle a 17th-century samurai sword
by Séamus Bellamy · Boing BoingI need to believe that Tested's Adam Savage has an extraordinary life.
It's not about his fame, the level of craftsmanship he's capable of, nerd cred, or that he gave us Mythbusters. It's the amazing access he has to such a wide spectrum of artifacts, fascinating people, and experiences that most of us would never have seen without his help. In this video, Savage is walked through the intricacies of a 17th-century katana by the MET's Arms and Armor conservator Ted Hunter. There's no feigning the enthusiasm and excitement that Savage shows throughout the video for the artifacts he's lucky enough to be in the presence of.
