Elderly woman injured after being struck by a vehicle in Whitby

An elderly woman has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Whitby.

Durham police were called to the area of Brock Street North and Mary Street West around 1:15 p.m.

A single vehicle had struck the elderly female pedestrian. She was transported to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition.

The roads in the area have been closed for an investigation.
