TTC shuts down stretch of Line 2 after overnight hydraulic oil spill at Old Mill station

by · CityNews

A section of Line 2 Bloor–Danforth remains shut down this morning after a hydraulic oil spill at Old Mill station, forcing the TTC to suspend subway service between Keele and Kipling as cleanup crews work to contain and remove the fluid.

Shuttle buses are running in both directions, but the TTC says riders should expect delays and crowding during the morning commute.

According to TTC media officials, the spill occurred sometime overnight. Maintenance work had been scheduled at Old Mill, but the TTC says the spill happened before that work began.

Crews have been on scene through the early morning hours, but as of now, there is no estimated time for when subway service will resume.
