Aldi, Asda, Lidl, Sainsbury's and Tesco New Year's Eve and Day opening times

Supermarkets have adjusted their opening hours in light of the New Year celebrations. Aldi and Lidl stores, in particular, plan to remain closed on New Year's Day.

If you still need to pick up a few last-minute items, such as a bottle of bubbly or snacks for your guests, now is the time to do so. Don't be caught out without a drink during the New Year's Eve countdown after surviving the Christmas period.

Most stores will be operating reduced hours on New Year's Eve. Here are the opening and closing times for Aldi, Asda, Lidl, Sainsbury's and Tesco, reports the Liverpool Echo.

• New Year's Eve: 8am - 6pm
• New Year's Day: CLOSED

Asda

• New Year's Eve: am - 7pm
• New Year's Day: 9am - 6pm

Lidl

• New Year's Eve: 8am - 6pm
• New Year's Day: CLOSED

Sainsbury's

• New Year's Eve: 10am - 7pm (Local stores from 6am - 9pm)
• New Year's Day: 8am - 8pm (Convenience stores open from 8am - 9pm)

Tesco

• New Year's Eve: Tesco Extras and Superstores 5am - 7pm. Local stores 6am - 10pm
• New Year's Day: Superstores 8am - 6pm. Express stores 8am -10pm
