Pulse: 54% of Pinoys want dynasties banned
by Janvic Mateo · philstarMANILA, Philippines — A slim majority of Filipinos are supporting the passage of an anti-political dynasty law, a survey conducted by Pulse Asia showed.
Results of the Dec. 12 to 15 survey released yesterday found that 54 percent of the respondents want Congress to immediately pass a law banning political dynasties.
It was composed of 21 percent who said that they “very much agree” to such a legislation.
Some 33 percent of respondents “somewhat agree” to it.
Eighteen percent said they disagree with an anti-dynasty law, while 27 percent were undecided.
Support for the passage of an anti-dynasty law was highest among respondents in Metro Manila at 69 percent.
Respondents in the Visayas and the rest of Luzon followed at 59 percent and Mindanao at 34 percent.
