M23 militia says to pull out of key DR Congo city at US's request

In tonight's edition, Rwandan-backed M23 rebels say they've agreed to conditionally withdraw from the strategic Congolese town of Uvira. Also, the Uvira offensive in eastern DRC triggered tens of thousands of people to flee into neighbouring Burundi. And a new report by the World Meteorological Organization found temperatures in North Africa were their hottest on record in 2024.
