A massive fire broke out at a Vishal Mega Mart outlet in Ambala, Haryana. Firefighting operation is underway. Further details are awaited.

In another tragic incident on Monday, three members of a family died after a broke out at their residence in Faridabad, Haryana. 

The fire reportedly started following a blast in the air conditioner's compression unit, resulting in the spread of smoke in the building in the Greenfield area.

"We are their neighbours. We came to know that due to a blast in the AC's compression, the smoke spread in the whole building. There were four people in the house. Three have died. Police are present at the spot," a resident of the area told news agency ANI.

2 Killed In Fire At Vishal Mega Mart In Delhi

In July, a massive fire erupted at a Vishal Mega Mart outlet in Delhi, claimig the lives of two men. The fire broke out at a a four-storey commercial building located on Padam Singh Road in Karol Bagh, with the blaze primarily concentrated on the second floor.

Emergency services took swift action after the fire was reported at 6:44 PM on July 5, deploying at least 15 tenders to the site to douse the flames. Two casualties were confirmed after the rescue operations concluded.

The deceased included a 25-year-old Kumar Dhirendra Pratap Singh, who was found unresponsive inside an elevator of the outlet. It is believed he died due to suffocation by heavy smoke. Singh could not get out of the lift and was trapped inside during the fire.

Another body was recovered during the cooling process. It was unidentifiable sincei t was completely charred. 

An investigation was launched by the Delhi Police to determine the exact cause of the blaze, with preliminary assessments pointing to a possible electrical short circuit. A forensic team also examined the site to ascertain any potential lapses in the fire safety compliance.
