Fire breaks out at resort in Wayanad

A fire broke out at Boche 1000 Acre resort owned by businessman Boby Chemmannur at Meppadi in Wayanad on Friday. The timely intervention of Fire and Rescue Services squads averted a major accident and helped the speedy evacuation of tourists from the accident spot.

Fire and Rescue Service sources said the fire broke out at the tourism facility in the afternoon following the leakage of a Liquefied Petroleum Gas cylinder kept at a restaurant in the resort. Though some of the tourist huts were destroyed, no one sustained injuries in the incident, they said.
