Country, Community and Culture: Irish recruit on learning about Indigenous round

By Hannah Kennelly

Since moving to Australian, Irish recruit Saoirse Lally admits the learning curve has been steep.

The former county Mayo captain was poached by St Kilda and has quickly had to adapt to new food, traffic signs and footy lingo.

The Gaelic star spoke to this masthead and said one of her biggest enjoyment has come from learning about Australian Indigenous culture, ahead of Sir Doug Nicholls round.

Lally and new Saint Sophie Butterworth visited Chelsea Heights Primary School earlier in the week to meet with First Nations students who created their banner for the clash with North Melbourne.
