Reb Yankel Dalfin, a resident of North Miami Beach, Florida, passed away.

He was 78.

R’ Yankel was the younger brother of Reb Aron Dalfin of Crown Heights.

He was born in Romania, raised in Eretz Yisrael and came to America in 1963. His brother arranged that he should learn in the Lubavitcher yeshiva util 1969. He was influenced by his teachers, including Reb Dovid Raskin, Reb Yoel Kahan, and Roshei yeshiva Rabbis Mentlick, Ushpal and Bukiet. He was a chavrusa with Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky during his time learning at Bedford and Dean.

He merited to have several Yechidus private meetings with the Rebbe, and the Rebbe guided him in various areas of his life. He had the merit of cleaning the Kerestirer Mikva before the Rebbe used it.

With the Rebbe’s Brocha, he moved in 1976 to Costa Rica before there was a shliach there. He raised a full frum family without much frumkeit there. Today, they are bnei Torah and respectable members of their communities.

His wife, Yehudis supported and helped create this.

After years in Costa Rica, he moved to Miami, and he davened at the JLC of Chabad on 41 Street. He had regular daily shiurim. In his modest, quiet way, he gave tzedaka. He always had a pleasant demeanor to all.

His older brother, Reb Aron Dalfin is sitting shiva but only available by first calling him at 718-771-0702. Please leave a message if no answer.

Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
