Shmuel Zahavy Cheder Chabad celebrated a beautiful and heartfelt graduation of their eights grade class on Sunday, 29 Sivan – June 14. This ceremony stood apart from previous graduations in several special ways.

This was the largest class to ever go through Cheder, with 31 boys. In addition, the boys made two siyumim o, Kitzur Shulchan Aruch and Gemarah. The guests heard many thoughtful speeches throughout the evening – from the graduates, from Executive Director Rabbi Yona Shur, outgoing Menahel Rabbi Yisroel Bard-wigdor, and sgan Menahel Rabbi Yisroel Zaltzman.

A parent representative spoke at the end of the ceremony, representing the parent body, and offered special appreciation to Rabbi Bard-wigdor, Chita Ches rebbe Rabbi Goldberg, Rabbi Y. Zaltzman, and all the rebbeim, morahs, teachers and support staff who worked together through the years to bring these boys to this pivotal and exciting point in their lives.

This graduation marked Rabbi Bard-wigdor’s last as menahel. Having served in the position for 10 years, he remarked on the privilege it has been for him to see this eighth grade class grow from Pre1A yingelach to today’s bochurim. In addition to receiving their teudos, the boys were each gifted a beautiful sefer from the Gluckowsky family, and those who made a siyum were gifted sefarim sets.

It was a beautiful and heartfelt evening for all. The Cheder will miss our graduates, and we wish them hatzlacha as they move up to yeshiva.
