TYT calls for renewed commitment in New Year 2026 message
by Samuel Aubrey · Borneo Post OnlineKUCHING (Jan 1): The new year should be seized as an opportunity to strengthen commitment and improve the implementation of policies, said Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
In his New Year 2026 message, he said the transition into the new year should not be seen merely as a change of calendar, but as a renewed call to action for all levels of society.
“This is to ensure that every effort undertaken is translated into results that bring shared benefits.
“In this context, the spirit of togetherness, mutual respect and bonds of kinship must continue to be preserved as the foundation for the stability, progress and well-being of Sarawak,” he said.
In the message, which he conveyed together with his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, Wan Junaidi prayed for the people of Sarawak to be blessed with lasting good health, family harmony and success in all endeavours.
He added that 2026 should also be a year of reflection and gratitude, encouraging Sarawakians to move forward with renewed resolve.
“May the year ahead be a space for introspection, gratitude and stronger determination as we build a better future for Sarawak and generations to come,” he said.
