Video. Devastating fire wreaks havoc near Los Angeles

The flames, fanned by winds of up to 160 kilometres per hour, are aggravating the already tense situation in a region that has not seen rain for months.

In Pacific Palisades, homes have been destroyed, roads blocked and 30,000 residents evacuated, with thousands of structures threatened.

Authorities are still trying to determine the extent of the damage.
