KiwiRail signal outage causes “major disruptions” to Metlink trains

A signal outage stopped Metlink’s Wellington train services for an hour this morning.
Metlink said there had been “major service interruptions” caused by an outage to KiwiRail’s signal network. The outage had stopped trains from arriving or departing at Wellington Station.
RNZ reported at 9.54 that train services were resuming after the outage.
Metlink said services were facing delays of up to an hour till the backlog had been cleared.
