Student in custody after gun found at Henderson high school

A gun was recovered from a student at a Henderson high school this week, according to a letter sent to parents by the school’s principal.

In the letter, Kent Roberts, principal of Green Valley High School, said school administration recovered the firearm from a student on Wednesday.

“CCSDPD was quickly contacted and they arrested the juvenile,” the letter said, adding, “There were no threats to students or staff.”

Kent noted that all CCSD policies and procedures are being followed and that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.
