1 dead following crash involving motorcycle in west Las Vegas

One person is dead following a crash that involved a motorcycle in west Las Vegas on Wednesday.

The crash, which happened when a motorcyclist was struck by another vehicle near South Jones and West Oakey boulevards, took place just before 4 p.m., according to a text message from Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Steven Skenandore.

The motorcyclist died at the scene, Skenandore said. As of 7 p.m. on Wednesday, traffic in the area of the crash was still restricted, Skenandore said.

Investigators with Metro’s Traffic Bureau continued to look into the cause of the crash Wednesday night.
