London travel disruption this weekend: full list of tube and train closures for March 21-22 2026
by Ed Cunningham · Time Out LondonBetween closures at Liverpool Street, the near-total shutting of the Piccadilly line and partial closure of the likes of the Metropolitan, District and Hammersmith & City lines, it’s been a hectic month for navigating the capital at weekends. In some good news, next week’s tube strikes have been called off.
But none of that should stop you from getting out and enjoying London this weekend. On March 21-22 there’s stuff to explore like David Hockney’s new free Serpentine exhibition, movies at BFI Flare, London Eid Fest and the National Theatre’s huge new production of Summerfolk.
Here’s what you need to know about planned tube and train closures on TfL services in London this weekend, and planning around them.
London travel disruption and tube closures, March 21-22 2026
Piccadilly line
- On Saturday March 21 and Sunday March 22, no trains between Cockfosters and Uxbridge.
Elizabeth line
- On Sat Mar 21, no trains between Whitechapel and Shenfield.
On Sun Mar 22:
- No trains between Ealing Broadway and Shenfield/Abbey Wood until 7.45am.
- After 7.45am, a reduced service will run between Paddington and Maidenhead/Heathrow.
- After 7.45am, no service between Paddington and Shenfield/Abbey Wood.
Weaver line (Overground)
- On Sat Mar 21 and Sun Mar 22 no services between Liverpool Street and Cheshunt, Chingford and Enfield Town.
Liberty line (Overground)
- On Sat Mar 21 and Sun Mar 22, whole line closure.
DLR
- Cutty Sark station is closed until Monday March 23. Find out more here.
District line
- Eastbound trains will not call at Barons Court until June. When travelling east, go one stop west (to Hammersmith) and bounce back east.
Waterloo and City line
- Closed on weekends (but for how much longer?).
Liverpool Street station
On Saturday March 21 and Sunday March 22 there will be a whole station closure at Liverpool Street. The following replacement buses will run:
- Elizabeth line services will be replaced by buses between Stratford and Romford, and Newbury Park and Shenfield
- Overground (Weaver) services replaced by buses between Seven Sisters and Enfield Town/Cheshunt and Hackney Downs and Chingford
