Oldest luxury hotel in Dallas damaged by ice storm

Among the damage from last week's ice storm was the glass atrium at Dallas's Adolphus Hotel

The 22-story Adolphus Hotel, built in 1912, is a historic sight in Dallas. 

According to our partners at The Dallas Morning News, on Tuesday, the hotel’s glass atrium buckled under the weight of snow and ice, sending glass and wintry precipitation into the hotel's drawing room. 

Hotel staff told the paper they anticipated the collapse, had blocked off the area, and had prepared in advance to deal with any damage.

No injuries were reported.
