Barbecues ignite van fire in Haaren

A van fire broke out on Aan het Eind in Haaren at 1:45 p.m. Sunday after smoldering wood remnants inside two large luxury barbecues triggered flames, Omroep Brabant reported.

The fire was first spotted by a firefighter from the local brigade who lives on the same street. He immediately alerted his colleagues.

The owner attempted to fight the fire, but soon the emergency crews took over. The fire was quickly brought under control.

Smoldering wood remnants inside the grills ignited materials in the vehicle. Blankets placed between the barbecues also caught fire, intensifying the blaze.
