Northbound First Avenue Bridge in Seattle is stuck

Northbound First Avenue Bridge on Highway 99 in South Seattle is stuck in the open position, causing traffic backups, the Washington State Department of Transportation said on X shortly after 6:35 a.m. Wednesday.

WSDOT said there is no estimate on when the bridge will reopen to traffic.

The bridge has been undergoing repairs for weeks after inspectors found cracks in the steel deck gates of the bridge last month.
