Rant and Rave: Reader helped after fall
by Submitted by Seattle Times readers · The Seattle TimesRAVE to the men and women of the Seattle Fire Department and the Mariners staff who thoroughly checked me after a Parkinson’s-related fall. They had me back in my seat in time to see a big rally.
RANT to ignoring stop signs. I’m blind and travel with a guide dog. There is a four-way stop one block north of Ballard. People routinely either ignore the stop sign and cruise through or do the famous California stop. I have almost been hit more than once! One old lady (I am 83) screamed out the window, “I have a very important appointment, (expletive).” I said nothing.
RAVE to Seattle Parks and Recreation for making Freeway Park beautiful this summer. The park is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and they’ve brought it back to life masterfully. I highly recommend everyone take a stroll through this urban wonder as soon as they can.
