WA floods: Portions of I-90, Highways 2, 18, 20, Blewett Pass closed

Portions of Interstate 90, other major highways and local roads are closed Thursday morning throughout Western Washington because of flooding and mudslides.

Eastbound Interstate 90 near North Bend remains closed because of a mudslide. The interstate is closed for 5 miles from Winery Road to 436th Avenue Southeast.

Law enforcement is directing traffic through the area because there is water on the roadway, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

On Highway 2, all lanes are closed from Index-Galena Road to Sky Lane between Index and Skykomish, and 28 miles are closed near Stevens Pass to the west of Leavenworth.

Highway 18 from Interstate 90 to Issaquah Hobart Road is closed.

Highway 20 is closed in both directions 12 miles west of Winthrop, Okanogan County, because of water and debris over the road. A detour through local roads is available. The highway is also closed east of Concrete in Skagit County.

Blewett Pass at Highway 97 is closed in both directions between milepost 150 at the Highway 970 junction and milepost 177 six miles south of Highway 2.

Both directions of Highway 162 in Orting, Pierce County, are closed near Rainier Avenue Southeast to Harman Way.

Highway 203 north of Duvall closed early Thursday morning. Highway 410 is closed at Mud Mountain Road to 583rd Avenue East.
