Falmouth’s Water Square to welcome vendors for holiday Grand Market

· The Gleaner

The ban on vending in Water Square in Falmouth, Trelawny will be temporarily lifted between December 24 and 28, 2025, Councillor Garth Wilkinson of the Falmouth Division has announced.

“The municipality, in an effort to provide a feel-good spirit, will be facilitating an extended Grand Market in the town square. Vendors are expected to erect tents for their stalls, which come at a cost,” Wilkinson said.

He added that vendors are encouraged to visit the revenue department of the municipality to finalise arrangements and make payments.

Preparations are under way for the expected large turnout of vendors and patrons, including painting picket fences and installing banners throughout the square.

The ban on vending in Water Square was instituted in 2011 when the area was pedestrianized.
